Mental Health
Practitioner ARMHS

AGENCY DESCRIPTION: East African Healing Services (EAHS) is an association of African, mainstream, and other refugee and immigrant human service providers certified by the Minnesota Department of Human Services to provide Adult Rehabilitative Mental Health Services (ARMHS). We recognize there is a unique cultural and religious character in Somali, other East African, and Middle Eastern refugees and immigrants in the Minneapolis-St. Paul area. We are committed to providing services to immigrants and refugees in their own language and in ways that are trustworthy to them. We believe that the relatively recent arrival of diverse populations in Minnesota and their previous war and refugee camp experiences, added to the particular language, cultural and religious characteristics of each population, have made it difficult for mainstream providers to give effective services.
